Red Heads With Green Eyes

There is something very interesting about shooting a woman with red hair and light eyes. Could it simply be that they stand out due to scarcity? Maybe but I think it's more than that. I think it has more to do with the extreme color palette that they show in their images. Take Pennie for instance (link above in title and images above) - I put her against a blue sky and she just looked phenomenal. I very often end up going to black and white to enhance the starkness of what I shoot. Not with someone like this...All I could think about was the light. More light.

I'm shooting her again and am looking forward to it...a trooper in the face of public nudity I think we will produce some images that make people say "Holy Shit!" which is my mission statement lol

Introduction To Bondage Class

The Chest Harness (or how 90% of Shibari can be learned in this one tie) - A Bondage Class for Beginners

This class is being hosted by DomSubFriends at 830 on Friday Sept. 4

Shibari can be one of the most confusing arts in the world of BDSM for those that have not had any real experience with it. Even for the casual practitioner who has attempted to learn out of a book it sometimes can really be difficult to pull together the different aspects into a cohesive and clean style. JC will show the class slowly and concisely how to combine the most basic of Japanese bondage techniques together to create a piece of rope work that will be the base of much of your rigging. In easy steps you will learn first how to create a very basic harness as well as some hints on how to make it take on your own style in the future. The chest harness is the basis for much of what is seen as Shibari from hogites to suspension play. The elements you learn during this class will send you on your way toward safe bondage play that can be enjoyed by everyone.

This class will include lots of tying by you - you will need to bring at least 2 30 foot lengths (or 25 - 33) and up to 3 depending on the size of your partner. Many of you will have your own rope already. If you don't, "Home Depot" is on 23rd St.

100 feet of 6 to 8 MM rope cut into 1/3's (and melted at the ends) will be perfect and economical for you to learn with. The lovely people over at Purple Passion on 20th St. also have all your supply needs covered. Or, you can of course buy the ropes right at Paddles as well.

JC came to bondage from the perspective of a photographer and videographer. Having worked with prominent artists in the NYC scene he learned the art of rope under the watchful eye of one of the foremost rope practicioners in the United States. During an intensive year long apprenticeship he honed his style on both lifestyle players and vanilla models creating a style that is both visually pleasing and comfortable for those that are new to rope play. Fetishcon Days 2 - 5

I got lazy a little bit. I got cheap a little bit. I got super busy a little bit and so I didn't have internet at the Hyatt in Tampa (the host hotel for the convention) so I didn't get to update this every day the way I had planned...
I am in the middle of decompressing from a full day of driving and trying to slowly figure out what is in my comp from shooting but here is one I shot..many more to come.

Short story to go with this - I learned to tie at Hardtied from the legendary PD - the founder of Insex.com. While shooting, videoing, rigging, etc etc at the site I heard all the stories of the "old days" and one of the prominent figures was Cowgirl aka Liz Tyler. Long story shot I had the chance to meet her and I can't say enough about how great she was and we chatted a bit about mutual aquaintances before deciding to do a quick shoot - no rope in this one but certainly one of my favorite shoots ever....

Fetishcon Day 1

The time finally came. After weeks of planning and worrying and spending and getting my shit together I finally was on the road to Tampa for Fetishcon 09. The week leading up to it was painful in many ways as my wife was unable to attend due to unforseen but very happy circumstances. I led to lots of soul searching as to if I even wanted to go. The flop and flip in my mind was constant with my desire to be with Koan far outweighed my desire to go to Fetishcon but she insisted that I go. For her it was very difficult as well - wanting to be there, wanting to take the road trip down with me and LC and Cyndie and Lady J. In the end she decided she was not up to it and I found a new co pilot for the trip. I was lucky I guess to find Summer Siren on short notice. Up until the last moment I had hoped to figure out a way for Koan to come...Sadness.

The road was a two car caravan with myself and LC doing the driving from NJ down to Savannah GA. for day one...
I managed a couple of images with Summer that I think are pretty cool...after 12 hrs/800ish miles of drving shooting was not a top priority. We were foiled in an attempt to capture a scene of a bound Summer in front of a GIANT COW on the Atlantic Coastal Hwy by over zealous security measures...lol

For my shots I took to the streets of Harlem NYC with the lovely Abiola of Planet Abiola and we gallivanted around the streets creating some very fine images if I do say so...

Another holiday that seems to have had it's meaning lost...
Between Memorial Day and Independence Day I'm not sure which gets a worse deal...two holidays designed to honor people that created the USA are now nothing more than excuses to get drunk and eat bar b q'd meat...(nothing against those things) Even if you are able to admit that we do some shitty stuff as a country, even if you admit that things aren't perfect - you still need to admit that there is no place else like it. It deserves a birthday party...a party that all Americans can take part in...I'm not saying that hospitals or police should be closed but is there any reason for the people making 8/hr at the Quickie Market to be open...do you really need to shop at Macy's? Can't figure out what you needed the rest of the week?
Enough with my complaining - just that in most "industrialized countries" when they have a national holiday everyone is off...

Capt. Stu's House

I was lucky enough to be invited out to Capt. Stu's place (brought along by the man myth and legend LC of Misfit Studios ) It was a great experience with talented people everywhere - so many that I didn't get to work with all of them. I am trying to rectify that in the near future.
In any event I was lucky enough to shoot with three great models - the super sultry Cry Kitten, the ridiculously tough pixie known as Laura UnBound, and last but not least (though in this group least would be better than most places) Mysha Kitten. There were some amazing shots to be had and the vibe was more party (kinky crazy party but still a party) than work and i hope it shows in the images. I proudly captured the popping of Mysha's rope cherry and I can only hope she likes the images as much as I do...

Nude In The Land Of Shabbos and Hipsters

Had the opportunity to meet up with Samantha Erin yesterday. She'd been coming from another shoot and we had booked on short notice so the shoot was going to be shorter than I would have liked. She was new to rope and new to public shooting. Sounds like someone I shouldn't bother with right? But no...we met, hit it off, and produced some images that I am very very proud of. I tied her and drove over to the land of Hipsters and Hasidim. Bout a ten minute ride in the car brought us to Williamsburg Brooklyn. I headed down toward the water and warehouses so that there would be less people. I wanted to make sure Samantha had a great first experience with public shooting. I think she did....

I had the chance to work with Dina while doing some rigging for Aeric and at first impression I didn't think the rope portion of the shoot was going to go all that well. She was no really "into rope" as some put it but once she was tied and the cameras started shooting she was amazing...

Intro To Bondage Class June 20th In NYC

Hello All - I've had many people over the past year ask me how I learned to tie and ask me how hard is it and ask me if I would teach them. I always say - I learned by having an experienced rope guy stand over me and make me tie over and over and over until it made sense. I then say that once you get the basics - it's easy. Really easy. I then say yes I can teach and plan to have a class.

The time is now...

June 20th at HTC Studios at 508 W. 26th St. I will be teaching an intensive introductory rope bondage class from 12-5pm. There will be a short break to eat at 3. The cost of the class is 100/pair of students. All are welcome and invited.

The class is aimed at beginners looking to demystify rope bondage. I will cover the following.

1. Basic safety.
   
2. Rope selection
3. Analyzing your partner to decide on what is best for you both
4. Tying, Tying, Tying. - This class will aim to immerse you in the basics so that when you leave you will be capable of adding rope bondage to your (rope) bag of tricks competently and without hurting anyone.

What this class will NOT be....

1. A suspension class. I have been tying for years now and still will not do suspensions with just anyone. It is not something for everyone and certainly not for beginners.
2. A pick up joint. I totally encourage you to bring someone with you. I totally encourage anyone that is single to come. I totally encourage people to be friendly, have fun, and exchange ideas. I will not tolerate any harrassment. This is a class to learn. I will NOT tolerate any harassment of anyone. Please be clear here...

Here is one more thing that will separate this class from many others you might go to. I will have a model. I will be tying her. She will be very scantily clothed. I do invite you to bring your camera and take pictures of what I do and what you do. This is not a model shoot but I am sure that there will be some good chances to take images if that is something that intersts you.

Class Requirements:

1. An open mind.
2. 4 30' lengths of rope...at least. Everything I do can be done that way. More is good. A few short ones always is helpful but for the basics you can do lots with that much rope. Home depot is your friend. Cheap is fine to learn.
3. Good hygiene. No one likes to be locked in a studio with any stinky folks.
4. ID that shows you to be at least 18. There may be some nudity in the class.

Printers And Bears Oh My

Got my new printer to replace my old printer from a company that will remain nameless. I got a great deal on the first one and it had great reviews with the exception of it seeming to have a high crap out rate. Knowing that the internet is the home of the complainer I decided to take my chances hoping that the crap out rate was an exaggeration. After creating some wonderful prints in the first month I had it the law of Murphy caught up with me and mine too went in the shitter....so a few calls back and forth with apparent native English speakers and they said - No problem...new printer on the way.
Wow I say to myself. That kinda makes up for the piece of shit breaking...and it's here. And it's taking an hour to initialize and making the same awful noises that the old one made that were part of the reason that I thought it was broken (combined with streaking on the right side of the images). Well the end result is amazing prints and I can again recommend that HP 9180 as a wonderful printer...

Now why the hell don't they make mattes that are 12 by 18?
