American Nightmare / Give Up The Ghost July 22 2012 Webster Hall NYC

What else can I say that has not been said - the words, the anger, the frustration, the fury? American Nightmare (later called Give Up The Ghost) were a band that helped reignite my love for hardcore. I've been told I have the emotions of a teenage girl more than once and I do believe that led to my love of the lyrical content. The power that the band put into their live performances never failed to amaze me. I was so disappointed when they left without much fanfare. While I doubt there is much left in them as a band now it was a true pleasure to get to see them one last time. 

Boston

 Shot with Angel Careese in Boston early morning. After a day of flake outs for normal timed shoots Angel met me at 5 in the morning and I was happy to see her. Bubbly and enthusiastic even after a day at work she was eager to go.
Boston on the other hand failed to co-operate. First location i ran into the dreaded "i am just doing my job" security guy. Always worse than the cops because they honestly have no fucking idea of the why's of what they are doing. Discretion means nothing. They just repeat the company line over and over. "the rules say...blah yada blah yada"
Sucked - good location that maybe I'll hit in the future. The loss of those 15 minutes meant i missed the sun coming up over Copley Square.

 The sky went from a brilliant red with rolling choppy clouds to barely blue and flat in a matter of minutes. It happens but it still was upsetting. I had an eager model and co-operating gear unlike Montreal where I had the model and the sky but fucked up gear. Regardless we went to work shooting and even though I had to shoot at some faster shutter speeds than i wanted in order to bring any definition into the clouds I was pretty happy with that part of the shoot.

Copley was a great location with lots of stuff to shoot in front of. Angel was great for bringing lots of outfits. The bums were great for giving some flavor to some of the shots and not bothering the talent...

We got out to the Mass Ave Bridge which separates Boston from Cambridge and the wind went nuts. I had been using the Impact Quik Box and the Westcott Apollo Orb throughout the day to good results but on the bridge even with the camera bag hanging from the stand there was no way to use either modifier without assistance which i did not have. So i shot with the bare 580EX2 and this is what I go. The sky finally was showing some definition but by then i was on my way to work...

 Montreal with these two gorgeous models was the most fun i've had in a bit. This year's shoots have been few and far between but I have to say they have been great.
Next stop is Boston on July 19th and I'd love to have 1 - 3 great models to come and do the town with me...

i wish i would have gotten these two hours earlier in the day when the light was still amazing and the clouds were fluffy and luxurious. I wish my gear would have been up to the effort that the women were willing to give. I wish the day had 48 hours in it or that I could have at least stayed in Montreal for one more night. Rather I just had two amazing models. I haven't shot as much recently as I would like but these two got me wanting to break out the camera every day.  Great attitudes, showed up on time, were game for my crazy ideas, and were just gorgeous. NYC! It's your turn. Lets do this here in my back yard...

Fashion Vs Fetish On The Streets of Montreal

In case i haven't made it abundantly clear I loved Montreal. I loved the architecture, the weather, the textures, and the smells. It was a perfect combination of the old world and the new and the people were (like NYC) much friendlier than the reputation. I am so happy to have gotten the opportunity to end my travels like this...

Molson Brewery off to the right - two gorgeous girls next to a main thoroughfare at dusk. 830pm or so. Lots of cars coming from 3 directions. The flash wouldn't co-operate the way it was supposed but I'm still pleased with the work these awesome models did for me. Check out Montreal Adventure for more info on them....

Montreal Adventure

So some of you know me in real life and some of you don't. Here is a little back story that fits in with this latest shoot. I have had the pleasure of working with a team of the finest people i've ever known for the last 18 months in a job that allowed me to travel the world and see places I would never have seen. I recently made a decision to leave that in order to spend more time with my family and pursue some other interests that demanded more stability in my life. One of those fine people on my team is a friend and travel mentor and world class photographer GB. His work can be seen over at Ruinism which i highly recommend you check out. Where my images generally take somewhere in the range of 1/500th to 1/8000th of a second to take his can take minutes or hours and the time he puts into each image can be seen in the final results. Great stuff. As good a photographer as he is he is a better friend and I think that everyone that knows him would say so. Enough ass-kissery for a moment. GB has always been a proponent of my work but he has never had a chance to join me on a shoot. So for my last traveling show we hit 4 Canadian cities in 6 days. The last of these was Montreal. I've never been but I've long known that the city has a strong fetish community and it was the city where I was actually going to have a few hours of spare time to try to shoot. I found a couple of beautiful models willing to participate in one of my adventures. They are Joanie D and Dorothee St Onge and I could not have been happier with the way things happened. The shoot was about adversity from the minute it started. Another co-worker that was supposed to be meeting me in Montreal at 240 ended up delayed until nearly 530 pm which was when the shoot was scheduled to start. I made arrangements and got out to the airport to pick her up and then hustled back to the city during rush hour. The girls were waiting in the hotel lobby and i was enthused to say the least. After about 20 minutes of hi's and getting ready I lead the girls, GB, and Dorothee's boyfriend up to a church yard that I had scouted earlier. Upon arriving I set about doing some test shots with a flash that i was excited to use here since it was much more powerful than what I usually use. As is murphy's law the flash shit the bed and I started to panic for a moment. Being anal about these things I had packed a back up and I pulled that out. I got about 30 shots in the church yard before you guessed it the second flash system decided to say sayanora. The above shot has very little  photoshop - i limited it to some sharpening. The sky, the girls, the location all melded together to make it happen....I love shooting, I love my friends, I love Montreal.

Predicament - Tippy Toes and Nipple Weights

 I've been very lucky to have been able to travel a bit and not only travel but to get to tie and shoot in various places. I've gotten to shoot in some awesome spots with some of the coolest models out there. This was just such an example. I was in Oakland to meet a friend and the opportunity to shoot came up. I took it.  it had taken me a while for some reason to get at least one of the masks from Le Cordonnier - When I finally did it was a pretty impromptu shoot but I gotta say I love the outcome. Thanks to Lacuna for providing the amazing eyes and attitude.

Brides Do The Spanking

I've said earlier that I love spanking. It was my first taste of kink and my introduction into the world of bdsm. I love giving the spankings but I also love watching the spanking. Especially if it's at my direction....The second shot was just amazingly lucky to catch the flesh as it flattened out during the spank. The "bride" was not at all dominant and the spankee is a dominatrix which just added to the scene for me...

JJ Plush

Is there another model in the world that can wear a ball gag the way that JJ can? This shot is a bit old now and JJ is doing far more video producing than modeling it seems (and she's an awesome producer as well as model) over at Born To Be Bound but when a model brings her own giant ball gag to a shoot and let me drag her into the cobble stones in Brooklyn to be bound and gagged while cars drive by how can you not think she's awesome. JJ Plush - you rock.
